Across the South West, projects inspired by the Christian faith are having a transformational effect on local communities. Faithworks celebrates and promotes this work in order to encourage and empower other churches and Christians to rediscover their role at the heart of their community.

Training and Events

To find out about training and events taking place in the South West click here. We endeavour to feature quality events on a wide range of topics.

CiB South and West offer training for groups and individuals working with the voluntary and community sector or for those providing advice and support to voluntary and community groups. Course titles include "Getting it write! Writing successful bid applications", "Going for Gold! Sources of funding for larger projects" and "Keeping on track: Project Monitoring and Evaluation." A majority of their courses take place at the CiB offices in Devizes, Wiltshire. There are various established and developing local networks based in the South West including Faithworks Wessex and Faithworks Ferndown. 

Faithworks Wessex runs a wide range of projects, including:

• Homelessness Outreach Worker for Bournemouth
• Poole Food Bank
• Personal Budget Coaches
• Bridging Communities - 3 local URC are supporting a Church-Related Community Worker to bring together the old and new communities of the regeneration area in Poole. 
• Spirituality and Children in Care - The project helps Children in Care develop self-esteem, resilience and the ability to deal with the stresses and strains of their lives.
• COMPASS - a ‘wellbeing’ project to help reduce social isolation in the over 65s in Rossmore, Alderney and Newtown.
