What is 360° Community Engagement?

“Every person is made in the image of God,
but poverty, injustice, exclusion and isolation
distort this image and rob people of life in all its fullness.

As Christians we do not just ‘hope’ the world will be a better place;
we are convinced it will be, that is why we do what we do
– and keep doing it.”
Faithworks

Life is not one dimensional.

People are multifaceted - their physical, emotional, economic, spiritual and social wellbeing is interconnected.

Therefore to work to enhance the life of any individual or community necessitates working in each of these areas. 360° community engagement understands that ‘whole’ communities are made up of ‘whole’ people and that therefore no one solution, addressing a single need, will be sufficient to fuel or sustain transformation. A wider lense is needed – one which is authentically biblical.

360° Community engagement recognises that a local church, working alone, cannot achieve this multi-dimensional goal. And though individual community projects make a real difference, it is only as we work together with other churches, voluntary agencies and statutory services in our area, that we ensure that full potential of vibrant community life is fostered.

The church has a rich history in serving its local community. 360° Offers the church a biblical mandate as it leads the way in demonstrating that our faith works.
