Farsley Youth Development Project
FYDP in West Yorkshire, is a youth development project which aims to create opportunities to support young people in their social, emotional and spiritual development. They run mobile youth provision services from a specially converted double decker bus supported by trained volunteers and arrange inter-generational events, aimed at bringing young and old alike together in positive shared experiences.
Gallowgate & Calton Children’s Project PEEK Ltd
PEEK is a community led organisation responding to the local needs and wants of children and young people in Glasgow. It seeks to develop a safe and a caring ethos for participants to access, discover and develop skills/talents. In turn they encourage participants to broaden their horizons beyond the limits of the east end thus increasing their confidence, social skills, creativity and aspirations
Hot Chocolate Trust
Hot Chocolate is a voluntary sector youth project in Dundee city centre working with marginalised teenagers. They work with young people to express their needs and interests building confidence and skills while encouraging them to take an active role in the communities of which they are part. To this end, the project aims to build a safe, welcoming and inclusive community with young people comprising of drop-ins, one-to-one support, group work, art projects, music practice facilities, gigs run by the young people, film work and basketball, graffiti art and residentials.
Prospex
Prospex in London, works with disadvantaged children aged 11-21 who suffer low self esteem and lack long term, stable, one to one relationships. They seek to support young people who have fallen through the family and community net and provide immediate help to turn their lives around. Different parts of the project focus on team and personal development; build parenting skills and positive family relationships; develop skills and employment opportunities; and provide life skills in areas such as health, sport and nutrition.
St George's Toddler Group
This toddler group in Southall is run solely by volunteers and offer children free play, games, craft activities, stories, singing and dancing. 95% of those who attend are from other faith backgrounds and 90% do not have English as a first language. The project seeks to overcome social exclusion and support children and parents by giving them the opportunity to interact socially as well as receive healthcare advice.
The Door Youth Project
The "Hub" of the Door Youth Project in Stroud is a coffee bar and drop-in centre which provides lunchtime recreation and support for young people that are excluded from mainsteam education. They are open every day after school and over weekends with an experienced team of youth workers are able to provide targeted support and training for young people. The project works closely with Social Services and Youth Offending Service who make regular referrals to The Door.
The Rock Community Project
Café CAST are Stirling city centre’s only open access youth drop in café, providing a positive diversion from underage drinking, anti social behaviour and youth crime in a safe and relevant environment. Young people participate actively in the running and decision making of the café together with art, dance and music programmes.
