East Midlands - Projects Transforming Communities
Across the East Midlands, projects inspired by the Christian faith are having a transformational effect on local communities.  Faithworks celebrates and promotes this work in order to encourage and empower other churches and Christians to rediscover their role at the heart of their community.

Highfield Happy Hens is a social enterprise giving young offenders and young people with behavioural issues a second chance through encouragement and practical training.  Shortlisted for a Faithworks Award in 2005, this chicken farm in Etwall, Derbyshire sells 16,000 eggs a day, whilst at the same time teaching practical farming and literacy skill to vulnerable young people.  For more information about Highfields Happy Hens visit www.highfieldshappyhens.co.uk.
