A workshop for Christian leaders and pastoral care workers who minister to refugees, the suffering church and those affected by war, AIDS, poverty, rape, criminal violence or other kinds of trauma.
The workshop is based on Healing the Wounds of Trauma: How the Church can Help (£3, available on arrival). This manual has been translated into over 100 languages. The workshop will be taught by:
Margaret Hill, trainer, Wycliffe;
Dr Frank Cole, medical doctor;
Dr Kelly O'Donnell, consulting psychologist.
It helps answer questions like:
· If God loves us, why do we suffer?
· How can wounds of our hearts be healed?
· How do we forgive the unforgivable?
· How should a Christian live in the midst of conflict?
· How do we prepare for future trouble?
Participants will learn how to use the 11 lessons in this Manual to train local church and community leaders to help people suffering from trauma. Special sessions and more advanced material will be offered to those who attended this course in 2009.
