North East Government Office
The Deputy Prime Minister's North East government office website contains useful information about local government and regional planning.

The North East Assembly (NEA)
This regional assembly has an important role in shaping the future development of the region. This includes working with partners to improve the economy, the environment and people's quality of life and creating space for debate and a strong voice for the region nationally and internationally.

Capacity Builders - North West
Capacitybuilders is a non-departmental public body (NDPB) set up in 2006 to take over the management of the ChangeUp programme and to work with other funders to build the capacity of the Third Sector. The North East England regional managers are Neil Bennett and Sandra Beighton .

Churches Regional Commission in the North East
This network uses its website as an interactive communication tool that allows you to communicate with others and keep abreast of the latest happenings in churches and faith groups across the region.

A report produced on behalf of the Churches Regional Commission stated that faith communities in the North East are a crucial part of the community and voluntary sector. Predominantly Christian, these groups contribute significant amounts of volunteering, spending approximately 161,268 hours per week of their time working in the wider community.  Click here to download the report.

Churches Together in England
Churches Together in England is the national body set up by the churches in 1990 to bring together people of different traditions to find new ways to work and worship together. There are an increasing number of local Churches Together networks in the North East. For more information click here
