Faith works in ...

This is a series of inspiring and encouraging accounts of Faithworks affiliates from around the UK. These stories show just a little of the huge impact they are having on their local communities.

Faith works in… Bath - At 15 years old Jo Dolby had a vision to see the church embrace the growing number of young skateboarders. Having realised the only way this would happen was by setting it up herself, she did, and less than 10 years on this is a reality. With God firmly at the centre of all they do, Jo now leads One Eighty and various other projects that have been developed as a response to the needs of the skaters. Find out how this innovative project is making the difference in the lives of skaters, young graffiti artists and their families by clicking here.

Faith works in... Essex - Moor Lane Pre-School has been caring for children for the past 22 years. However it is viewed as much more than a child care facility by the staff. They believe in going the extra mile for the families they serve. Having faced challenges around increasing legislation, a lack of volunteers and maintaining their ethos, read how they have sustained this Christian presence and continue to make changes so it can exist in the future. Faith works in... Carlisle - Behind an ordinary front door in a terraced house in Carlisle is a highly professional Christian counselling service. People with issues including divorce, abortion, bereavement and exhaustion have all sought their help. Run entirely by volunteers, Borderline has developed its own funding stream by writing and delivering accredited training packages. Find out more about the extraordinary work of this service here

Faith works in... Lincoln - A passion to connect more with the community of Lincoln has led to a huge development in the number of projects run by New Life Lincoln in recent years. A support group for parents of children with special needs, a weekly drop in for the homeless, youth work including football leagues, X-Factor style creative arts competitions, a café and more. They reach hundreds of people each month, find out how here

Faith works in... Eastbourne - The Shinewater Shaftesbury Centre offers a range of free services to the community of Shinewater including debt advice, counselling and help with benefit claims. This ecumenical church project also runs, breakfast and after school clubs at the local primary school and a lunch club for the elderly. Read more here.

Faith works in... Belfast - Oasis Caring in Action has now been transforming the lives of people in their community for over 10 years. From small beginnings they now run programmes to help sufferers of minor mental health issues, courses to help people back into employment, a good neighbours scheme, a coffee shop and much more.  Click here to read more.

Faith works in... Bradford - The Olive Branch Trust
The Trust began with a weekly lunch club in St John’s Church, Bradford. Their work has since grown massively.
